Christmas Bucket List #Blogmas Day 2

I probably don’t need to remind you that I love a good bucket list. And Christmas is so special it deserves one all of its own as there are so many things to do during the festive season. Christmas movies, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, letters to Santa.

So here is what’s on our bucket list for December to help make the holidays extra fantastic.

Visit Santa

The kids love their annual visit to Santa so we will be making a trip to one of the many local venues to see him.

Decorate the Tree

This year we have a new 7ft tree that we are really excited about decorating. There will be a big reveal over on Instagram and I will be sharing more on the blog too.

Make a Gingerbread House

As last year I will be purchasing a premade gingerbread house for the kids to make and decorate. My baking skills aren’t quite good enough to make my own.

Bake Christmas Treats

Christmas always involves lots of food in our house and the kids have already put in requests for Christmas cookies and cupcakes so we will be spending a lot of our time in the kitchen.

Watch Christmas Movies

I love a good Christmas movie and we have a few movies we love to watch each year, such as Elf and Home Alone so this one should be easy.

Do a Random Act of Kindness

This is something I’m planning to do in association with the elves. I want the kids to realise that Christmas is more than what you get from Santa. Jade over at Mummies Waiting has some fantastic ideas which I will be checking out.

Listen to Christmas Songs

As of yesterday, the Christmas songs will be blasting out at any available opportunity (much to my OH’s annoyance) and I will be singing along merrily.

Read Christmas Stories

Our advent books arrived with the elves, so we will be reading at least one Christmas book every night before bed.

Do some Christmas Crafts

We always try to do some Christmas crafts in the run up to Christmas as they make lovely gifts for grandparents. This year will be no different.

Make Handmade Christmas Cards

Again, the kids love making their own cards for their grandparents so I’m bracing myself for a glitter storm over the coming weeks.

Write a Letter to Santa

This will be the first year we have written an official letter to Santa, which has helped me out so much as until I got this letter I had no idea what the kids wanted for Christmas. I can’t wait to see their faces when they get a reply.

Go see the Christmas Lights

We have already seen the main lights in the city centre but there are lots of houses in the area that go all out with their lights so one evening we will probably have a drive around to look at them.

There are so many things you can do with your families this Christmas and we have just picked a small selection for our bucket list. Remember, whatever you choose to put on you list, the emphasis to be having a good time and making lots of fun memories with your families.

Do you have a Christmas bucket list? What’s on yours?
