I love September. The seasons are changing but there is still a hint of warmth around. The children are back at school. The holidays are officially over and it’s time to get back into a normal routine. In fact I may even go so far as to say September is the new January!
I have always loved this time of year. As a child it signified new shoes and stationery (in fact I still buy new stationery in the back to school deals). Now it signifies getting my life back on track and reviewing my routines.
It’s a new start and it’s the perfect time to give your goals and plans a quick once over to make sure you are still on track. It also gives you plenty of time to make any changes required.
This September I have decided I need a major overhaul with regard to my health, fitness and diet. I need to stop filling my body with chocolate so I can look good on the Christmas photos. I need to make the time to exercise more.
It’s time for me to get back on track with Slimming World and lose the weight I have been slowly gaining over the past months. I have been saying this for months but haven’t made any progress. However, this time I’m determined to make it work. It has in the past so I know it can make it work again.
So, for me, September is the new January and the best time to look at starting a few new resolutions. What’s more, by making these these mid-year pledges now I can live in the knowledge that if they don’t work out for me I can start over in January.
