Weekend Box have teamed up with Snazaroo to create a fantastic face paints box. Last week Corey came home from school to find one of the latest subscription boxes with his name on it. He was so excited and wanted to open it straight away. I knew what was in the box and I was ready for the excitement when he finally opened it. He completely shocked me by responding with a very blase “Facepaints, you can keep them!” Not quite the reaction I was expecting so I put them to one side to show his sister who I hoped would be more excited.
If I’m completely honest I totally forgot about the box until this past weekend. We had returned home and had some time to spare before dinner was ready so I pulled out the box to show Anya. Her reaction was the complete opposite, she was so excited and wanted to get started straight away. By this time Corey had come to see what all the fuss was about and decided that he wanted in on it.
We spent a bit of time reading about the cute characters on the box and had a look inside at the face paints. We had two mini face paint kids; the first contained everything you’d need to make a tiger and the second was a Birthday Party Kit with three colours and stamps.
After carefully peeling off the layer of cellophane we got started on transforming them both into tigers. Starting with the yellow I carefully covered them both as best I could while trying to stop them from wiggling around due to the application sponge tickling their faces.
As per the instructions we added the white and then the most tickly part, using the brush to apply the whiskers.
We then had two tigers prowling around the house and pouncing on an unsuspecting Daddy who had been out.
Birthday Party Kit Stamps
They then wanted to use the stamps. They each picked a stamp and a colour and set to work stamping their arms.
When they had finished with the stamps they decided it was my turn!!
They each chose a colour and began stamping my face; then my eldest daughter got involved and decided to add some writing, a moustache and a mono-brow.
Our Thoughts on The Weekend Box featuring Snazaroo Facepaints
We loved this box! This is the first time I’ve used face paints and the were really easy to apply. The colours were fantastic and bright and, because Snazaroo paints are water based, when it came time to remove them they came of easily with a babywipe or two. That said my fingernails are still slightly yellow from using the sponge to apply the paints.
Despite his original misgivings about the facepaints, Corey loved them and would have painted anyone who would have let him. Anya was another fan and has already asked when we can get them out again.
We had so much fun with the Weekend Box featuring Snazaroo and will definitely be using them again; maybe inviting some friends around as there are plenty of paints left. Who knows, we may even let Daddy in on the fun!!
There are five vibrant themes available – Summer, Carnival, Halloween, Christmas and Easter. The colourful summer packs include a fun Festive Mask (made up of bright pink, white and royal blue) and a Jester (featuring grass green, white and purple).
